Cheezy Landmarks and Me Blitzkrieg

After going to South Korea's most famous Buddhist temple I was sure to come home with some new photos of cheezy landmarks and me. I was not disappointed.

The first picture is of me in Oxford, Nova Scotia. Oxford is Nova Scotia's blueberry producing and packing capital, so one day someone decided that building a giant, happy-faced blueberry would a proper monument to Oxford's blue-mouthed glory.


The second CLM is by far the cheesiest. No matter how well you design it and no matter how well you fabricate it, a balloon will always look like a balloon. The statute high rendition of one of the Buddhists temples at Jeek Jee Sah is a great example of this.


It's a huge porcelain teapot. I'm Alice in Wonderland. Enough said.


The fourth cheezy landmark and me is not cheezy in-itself. Its size makes it cheezy. Traditionally sed to scare away unwanted foreigners traveling through rural Korea, these statues of late have been touristfied; which is to say: they have been made really, really big for no other reason than to impress tourists who don't think. That's 85% of the touring population, folks!


The last CLM is not of me, but of Jamie, so it's a CLJ, not a CLM.

I suppose this coffee landmark could somehow be interpreted as a statement on the state of the buddhist monkery in modern society (and, yes, the Jeek Jee Sah monastery is still active), but I'm, just, not, sure. My buddhist instinct tells me that the buddhist monkery is not likely to sanction the drinking of coffee by its members, because buddhists seek to be at peace within themselves. Would drinking a cup of coffee help a buddhist monk reach inner peace?
